iWINSLOW. A very pleasant and enjoyable evening was spent on Friday night m the Winslow School, . when the Winslow Lawn Tennis Club held a fancy dress dance, the object being to raise funds fox* the club. Although the weather conditions were not very favourable, there was a good attendance. The Grand March was led by Miss Dwyer and Mr F. Hampton, the many striking costumes making a good display. The prizes for most original costumes were awarded to Miss A. Body (Gipsy) and Mr B. Waller, sen. (Mr Micawber). Much interest was taken m the waltzing competition, which resulted m a tie between Miss M. Hampton, Mr A. Loffaghen, and Miss T. Lowe and Mr Tait, the judge being unable to separate them. Prizes were awarded accordingly. Mr T. Horn kindly acted as judge. Messrs Hampton and Milne provided the music.
