THE MOASCAR CUP.
RETAINED BY CHRISTCHURCH.. CHRISTCHURCH^ September 7. The final of the Moascar Cup competition was- played to-day between Christchurch High School and Auckland Grammar School, and attracted an attendance of several thousands to« Lancaster Park. The weather was fine, and after an interesting game Christchurch, the firßt holders of the cup, succeeded m retaining the trophy by 9 points (three tries) to nil. The better team won on • the day's play, and if they had a goal-kicker they would have added several points to their score. Low, Hay, and Warren scored for Christchurch. At the conclusion of the match the> cup was presented to Carleton, captain of the winning team, by Major H. Hurst, D.S.O. Colonel Young, O.C. Southern Command, said the splendid enthusiasm shown m the competition was m itself a fine thing.
