UNEMPLOYMENT AND . IMMIGRATION.

(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, September 7. An important conference of Labour organisations, convened by the Alliance of ■ Labour, assembled m the Trades Hall tins morning, to discuss questions of unemployment and immigration. Altogether there were 72 delegates present, representing 100,000 workers throughout the Dominion. Mr W. J. Mack (secretary of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants) presided. Mr j. Roberts (secretary of the Waterside Workers' Federation) was appointed secretary. The conference is not open to the Press. The proceedings are likely to last for several days, as it is intended to frame definite l proposals- regarding both of the subjects under consideration.
