PERSONAL.
Lord Northcliffe, principal proprietor of "The Times," is expected to reach Auckland on or about August 28, and will be there only for one day, as he will proceed to Australia m the steamer which brings him. Sir Francis Bell will go to Auckland to meet Lord Northcliffe. The Governor-General, accompanied by Lady Jellicoe and the Hon. Lucy Jellicoe, arrived m Invercargill yesterday on his first official visit to Southland. He was accorded a public welcome m the afternoon m the presence of a very large crowd. The Vice-Regal party will be m the district until the beginning of next week.
