Cabinet is consulting -the Crown Law officers, and it is understood that no serious objection as raised to thie proposal. The long d«Say is adversely affecting commercial -and financial interests.. ( Many pre-war engagements, which are; contingent upon -the official conclusion of iihe war, are still outstanding, and, 57 temporary laws, the need for which has long -since ceased, are retained m; existence pending $ie official declara-' tion.
