RIFLE SHOOTING.
THE RAKAIA CLUB. At this week's shoot of the Rakaia Miniature Rifle Club the close finishes again showed that the handicapping is now pretty, right, no less than 11 men having only two points between them. The same result occurred last week. The first prize was a trophy { presented by Mr Geo. Pluck, and the second prize was the club trophy, value 10s 6d. The total scores were as follow, the handicaps being m parentheses:—R Kerslake (6) 70; E. Mc- ; Sweeney (4)" T$ C. Evison (9) 70, E. JMcKeghey (5) 6£>, A. F. Kennett (4) f .69, W. E. Judkins (scr) 68, A. Oliver. ! (scr) 68, G. Cromie (scr) 68, H. Cromie ; (scr) 68, J" Cromie (4) 68, H. Steers (3) 68. The two- first-named shot off four times, each; breaking the 70 before^ R. KerslakV" proved the winner, with E. McSweeney second. There were 24 entries: For the Club Hotty Button, H. Cromie, \G. Cromie, A. ©liver, R. Kerslake, atd W. E. Judkins tied with scores of 68. In the shootoff H. Cromie won with 69. In their trophy- competition the team of 10 selected to shoot m a triangular match with Chertsey and Doric averaged a score of 66". 6. It is intended' to begin shooting for Mr A. J. Magson's trophy next wpek, and 'entries close- on Saturday.
