While the machine was moving backwards, the child tumbled out on to the road, and before the vehicle could be stopped one of the wheels passed over his head, crushing^ it frightfully and killing the boy. The father states that he made a fruitless grab at the child as he \vas falling, and then immediately reversed the engine, but he was unable to stop m time to save the child.
