HAWKE'S BAY JOCKEY CLUB.
(Per Press Association.) HASTINGS. June 22. The weather was dull and wet and the going heavy for the first day of the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club's winter meeting, held m conjunction with the Hawke's Bay Hunt Club. The attendance, under the circumstances, was large. The sum of £23,128 was put through the totalisator, compared with £28,651. on the corresponding day last year. An inquiry was held regarding The Baronet's reversal of the form shown m the Whakatu Hurdle Handicap. The explanation of the owner, that the horse had twisted a shoe m the race, was accepted. Concluding results : — Hastings Handicap, of 150 soys ; one mile* and one furlong^Antler I, Lochson 2, Royal Gift 3. Won by a. head; a length and a half between second i and third. Time,. 2min 1 4-ssec. Heretaunga Handicap, of 300 soys ; six furlongs and a half — Amber Tips 1, Molyneaux 2, Tari 3. Won by a neck. Time, lmin 23 l-ssec. ,
