With the death of the ex-Kaiserin disappears the most pathetic figure of the Hohenzollern v regime. She has been in failing health ever since she joined her husband in exile. She has been a prey to fears of poison and terial attacks and other perils. The end had been so long expectfed that the Duchess of Brunswick went to Germany in February to arrange for the funeral. The ex-Kaiserin finally succumbed to heart failure. [The ex-Kaiserin, formerly her Imperial Majesty, Augusta Victoria* Empress of Germany was born on October 22, 1858. She was the daughter of the late Duke of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Auguetenburg and previous to her marriage to the ex-Kaiser on February 27, 188l ; was the Princess ' Augusta Victoria Friederike Luise Fedora Jenny, of Holstein-Augustenburg. Since she went into exile in Holland in ' November, 1918, with the ex-German i Emperor, the Kaiserin had suffered < from ill-health. J ■ <
