THE ROLE BELGIUM PLAYED. (Received February 1, 9.25 a.m.) LONt)ON, January 30. ~"~ M. Briand, acknowledging Air Lloyd George's closing tribute- to the Conference, thanked the members, particular-' ly the Belgian Ministers, M. Jaspar and M. Theunis, who both worKed hard to reconcile the opposing standpoints. M. Jaspar then expressed his own satisfaction at ther Belgium role m the matter and added r"lt is impossible not to be satisfied wth the final result of / the Conference. Germany's disarmament, which vis as important to ■ Belgium as it is to the other allies, is now ;- guaranteed. Regarding reparatons, although the Belgian demanas have been somewhat reduced the realities of the situation have been made more precise. We were sure of the minimum and sure that Germany must pay us all. that her economic development would enable her to pay. ______ \
