(Received December 13,, 10.10 a.m.) NEW YOliK, December 10. A sensational triple Lynching occur- , red at Santa Itosa r , a suburb of San ,'Francisco, during recent weeks, ban 1 Francisco had been roused over the , operations of a' gang, of ex-pugilists ,; who kidnapped girls.and. took them to I a lonely house wnere-'thex were terribly ; maltieattd. The police broke up the | gang ai ter twenty girl* had been as- ' saulted anfl subsequently traced the 'gang to Santa Rosa,,'where a-pitched I battle with revolvers follovved ; in \vhich j three San Francisco detectives were j shot dead before the men were cap-\ tured and lodged in the Santa Rosa gaol. On Sunday last (yesterday morning) I a posse of 50 masked men visited the gaol and removed the thraa prisoners, .Boyd, Fitts and TarentQy, and. hanged them on a single branch of.a. tree. Five ' I companions ot the lynched men, who , were arrested with them, were removed , from the custody of the San. Francisco police and placed in -charge of State , officials. The Chief of Police is investigating the statements that policemen and friend* of the murdered, officers particpated in the lynching, There are indications, that it w as- arranged that no resistance" should be-made, by the I gaol officials at Santa Rosa. When the i lynchors arrived, the motors conveying | them received ;an ovation on. returning « from their mission of vengeance. The belief is that the deadf! policemen's friends took this method of..dealing the severest warning' to the members of the San Francisco underworld...
