The first day of the Forbury Park Trotting Club's spring meeting was held to-day in weather which was dull and cold, with some light showers late in the afternoon. There • was a large attendance, and an attractive racing card was presented. The totalisator handled £28,163, compared with £25,825 10s last year. Concluding results : — ' ,
Caversham Handicap (in saddle), of 175 soys; one mile and a half—Tickletoe 1, Tobermory 2, Grand Denver 3. Won by a short half-length; a clear length between second and third. Time, 3min 39 4-ssec.
Dominion Handicap (in harness), of 250 soys; two miles—Pieter Timmerman 1, Delville Wood 2, Solace 3. Won by eight lengths; ten lengths between second and third. Time, 4min 58sec.
Dash Handicap (in harness), of 250 soys; one mile and five furlongs—Tauhinu 1, Taraire 2, Guardess 3. Won by nearly- three lengths; ten lengths between second and third. Time, 3min 53 2-ssec.
St. Kilda Handicap (in saddle), of 200 soys; one mile —Marie Tempest 1, Hickory wood 2, Silver Shoe 3. Won by four lengths; two lengths between second and third. Time, 2min 20 1-5 sec.
