SECOND TRIAL CONTINUED. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, December 1. The second trial of , Samuel John Thorn, charged with, committing the Pukekawa murder, was continued .today, when further evidence on the lines of that given at tlie previous trial was heard. Some discussion ensued on the request of counsel for accused for an. experiment to show the result that would follow from the firing of a No. 7 Peters cartridge from accused's gun. It was pointed out that atmosphere and other conditions would not be the same as on the night of the tragedy. Eventually the judge said that later on, if the jury wished it, they could ask for the experiment. : : ; The case was adjourned. . '
