General Obregon's force has entered the States of Michoacan and Guerrero,, recruiting followers. SOFIA, April 27. A Compulsory Labour Bill has bi :n introduced into the Bulgarian Parliament. It provides that men .and women must perform a month's service upon national works, such as roads, bridges,, railways, marsh-draining, mines, factories, and workshops. LONDON, April 27. A witness at the Thames Police Court said his occupation was that of a " butter blender." The Magistrate asked for particulars. The witness replied: "Oh, we mix nine different kinds —American, Australian, Dutch, and others." The Magistrate asked: " What is the blend called—fresh Irish?" Witness: "No!, Fresh English." ' BERLIN, April 27. Dr. Wirth, speaking in the National Assembly, said Germany a year ago was on the verge of bankruptcy, but the danger was now passed, as the new system of taxation was giving satisfactory results. (Imperial News Service.) (Received April 29, 12.30 p.m.) ' LONDON, April 27. Mr Rudyard ' Kipling, in a speech delivered in London with reference to' the work of the Imperial War Graves Commission, emphasised the basic principle whereon the Commission was working was absolute equality and permanence. He stated that no point was more insisted upon by the Imperial representatives both from the viewpoint of sentiment and justice. He pointed out the impossibility of acceding to the requests for private expenditure. The Commission aimed at making the graves uniform and identical for every man whether a FieldMarshal or a camp follower. Mr Churchill, in a speech, similarly emphasises that the Dominions are contributing their quota of expenditure on the baris that the graves will be equal and* uniform. He mentioned that half a million headstones were required for graves in France and Belgium alone.
