HIGHBANK.
The householders' meeting was held in the school on Monday night. There were 31 householders present. Mr A. Geddes (chairman) read a report of the year's work, showing that the committee had a very successful year, there being a balance in hand of £33. Several questions were asked' and answered. A liearty vote of thanks was passed to . the committee and the teaching staff for their work during the past year. A resolution was passed favouring: (1) Extension of school age and vpdraetion of -Classes; (2) securing of more trained teachers and paying better salaries; (3) reform by establishing a National Education and Local Education Committee. ■ ■
Mr C. Angus presided at the meetinging for the purpose of the election of a new committee.
The following were elected:—Messrs A.. Geddes (chairman), V. Rouse (secretary), A. Findlay, G. Cleeve, and J Wallace.
