AUCKLAND, April 28

.As a result of the railway strike, the Taupiri mines and Pukemiro collieries, which are dependent on trucks for the transport of coal, closed down to-day. This means that Auckland from these mines alone will lost 620 tons per day. Stocks of coal in Auckland are very short.
