The Rev. H. N. Wright, who was recently appointed vicar of Te Awamutii, has resigned that position and accepted charge of the parish of Otipua, near Timai-u. Mr Wright's health is still unsatisfactory.
The 'death has occxirred at Nelson of Mr John Glen, secretary of the Agricultural and Pastoral Association, and until recently secretary of the Nelson Jockey Club and Nelson Trotting Club.' His death followed on an apoplectic seizure.
A welcome home to Sergeant W. W. Tilly, who left with, the Ist Battalion Rifle Brigade,, was held in the Victoria Hall last evening. Mr H. Addis, in' welcoming Sergeant Tilly home, wished him every success in civil life, and feltsure that his English bride would re ceive a hearty welcome to Ashburton. During the evening dancing was in dulged in, interspersed by vocal items.
