Officially, members of the Amalgamated • Society of Railway Servants, .comprising the traffic branch—that is, guards, porters, ijigtialmen, and in fact .everyone outside the First Division officers and the locomotive men, will ;uot be .on strike to-night, but the bulk ■of them undoubtedly sympathise with .the locomotive men, and many of •them, it is said, will be quite prepared .to go out. The society has filed its dispute under the Labour Disputes Investigation Act, which provides for the •matter being dealt with by a speciallyappointed tribunal composed of representatives of the parties involved and ai chairman mutually agreed upon. The Act further provides that should the suggested awsyd arrived at- by this aneans be not satisfactory to the men. '■they may give seven days' notice of decision to strike.
