ASHBURTON CIRCUIT
The quarterly meeting of the i Ashburton Circuit official-, was held in-the 'Harm?; Square Schoolroom last-e\en-lns*,. Thoic were present: Rev. T. W.I Vealie (in the chair), and Messrs* J. i Urf&baw, H.M., and: 14 officials. Before proceeding, to tne general business or the meeting, the, cJiairman i eferred ieeJingly to the number of bereavements that had' Wn suffered by'so^cial members 1 of the church during the quarter, and moved that letters oi condolence be sent to Mr F. The Young Worshippers' League had been, during the quarter, successfully launched, and there was a roll number ot 70, most of whom attended the Sunday morning • service. Mr b\ Frampton, Chcuit Steward, presented 1 ihe balance-sheet for the quai lei. This- sliowed an income of 8191 os id, and an expenditure of JLJiSo Us 2d, leaving a" credit balance ol to 14s 2d. Mr Frampton also reported that diuiug the quarter the (omaiittee appointed to deal with the matter had procured) a motor ear for the minister, and the meeting approved! of the action taken, andl the conditions under which it had been provided. ' The balance-sheet was adopted, and .a bonus of £o was made to Mr Belshaw. ' _
', Collections were granted to the Barring Square Trust in connection with 'their Church Anniversary and Harvest Festival; also to the Wakamu ■ Church Trust. , Correspondence was received with ?regard to the suggested! increase of 'the supernumerary allowances by 15 . per cent., and subject to a slight deletion the meeting supported' the ,pro'■posals: t ' ■ r ; ; Messr-9 h\ Frampton and I).
