JJeef prices remained firm at recent rates, but mutton advanced about ;"»s on recant .sales, and lambs improved in value about 3s on tlu> preceding sale, when there was a glut.
Fat I>ambs—7oo penned, compared with 3K)O at double sale on December ly. Extra prime* lambs to 345, prime 29s titl to 33s 3d, medium 24s 7d to 28s Gd, lighter 18s to 2-1 s Gd. Store Sheep.—A big yarding, including a number horn the Chatham Islands, which topped the inai-kot. Prices were about 2s easier than at the- previous holidays sales. Forward 4, (j, and 8-tooth wethers 29s Gd to 3Js S)d, ordinary 2Gs Qd to 28s 6d, interior 255: good two-tooths 2-l.s 4d, inferior 15s 9a to 17s lOd, lanbs' 21s to 235, full lambs ]2s :'cl, woolly mixed sex boggets 3Ls, a.m. owes and lambs Hs ta | JGs, cull ewes and lambs Us, good 4, I G, and 8-looth ewes 28s to 31s 9d, 2tooth (.'wo, 2Gs Gd.
I Fat Sheep.—Between five and six races wen; penned. The quality was i quite moderate. Prices advanced about 5s per head. Extra prime wethers to o3s, prime '12s to 48s, medium 37s Bd, to 4is -3d, lighter 27s to 375; price owes 3(is to 'lOh, medium 31s lOd to 3o?> 4d lighter 23s 9d to 31s. Fa I Cat d 0.—39-5 were yarded.. Prices were iirmly maintained. Extra prime steers to £33 os, prime £23. to £28, medium £17 to £22, lighter £9 to £16; prime heifers £13 10s Lo £21 ( 10s. lighter £7 7s Gd to £12 17s, 6d; extra prime onus to £23 10s.
