OFFER TO ALLIES.
EAST GALICIA WANTED
(lyr Press Association.) (Rrcfti'-od December 2, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, November 28. The '•Morning Post's" Warsaw correspondent sums up the. situation in Poland. He says: "M. Paderewski's position ir, hopeless, and his resignation is expected any day, owing to the failure" to secure East Galicia from tho Allies. France' and the_ United States are willing, but Britain refused. The Polish army made great sacrifices to secure East Galicia, and chore i.s. Intense public feeling that the sacrifices should not have been made in vain. Tho Poles arc willing to march to Petrograd against the Bolsheviki, but require the Allies' mandate, financial assistance, and recognition of claims to East Galicia. The Polish army consists of 600.000 men. the largest standing army in the world to-day. admirably drilled by France, and 1 equipped by the United States. The i Poles now hold the Beresina River | and Dwinsk, and thus are ".favourably • placed to operate against Petrograd ; and Moscow. The snow and ice in • December provide favourable wim- ; paigniug conditions.
