SYDNEY, August 29. Air Hughes is making a triumphal procession homewards, receiving .enthusiastic receptions at various towns en route from Fremantle.
Following upon the free gift of Gunn anthrax vaccine to the State, the Government biologist reports that exhaustive tests proved the vaccine capable of giving the protection against anthrax claimed. It is stated that the vaccine keeps indefinitely, and one dose suffices. The Chief Inspector of Stock reports that tests proved it was possible at any time to prepare vaccine- conferring immunity on stock against anthrax.
The Full Court dismissed Alexander Alaguire's appeal against the Union Steam Ship Company, in which Alaguire applied for compensation for contracting pneumonia whilst working in an exposed condition.
The seamen's conference will meet at Ale.lbourne on Monday. The wharf labourers fire still idle, but an early settlement is predicted.

The Assembly passed the bill raising the rate of interest which the Government might pass on new loans, from five to six per cent. The .Prices Regulation Bill was read a second time.
