A SENATOR'S CRITICISM.
(Received August 30, 3 p.m.) WASHING-TON, August 28. - In the Senate, Senator Knox (Republican) advocated a separate peace with Germany, owing to the fact that the Versailles Conference had imposed harsh and cruel terms on Germany. He •declared that the United States ought to renounce all claims to an indemnity. The Peace Treaty merely created an alliance of five. Groat Powers, and Germany would seek to form a coun-ter-alliance through her violation of Russia.
