SYDNEY, July 12. Most of the Union officials ridicule the idea of a general strike, stating that they are in sympathy vvitTi the seamen, but opposed to an extension of the trouble.' ' It is unofficially stated that the local branch of the Seamen's Union will oppose a general strike. MELBOURNE, July 11. The Trades Hall emissaries for the promotion of a general strike movement, have departed for the other States.
