BAND CONCERT
to be-'offered at the: ■ Theatre -Royal -at the,end' of :iHeypre-v| sent month, promises to l>o ;; :a distinct ■;■ novelty in entertainments. Mrs, IT. J. Chapman has arranged' a programme, that, while containing numy old-timo - coon songs and effects, whi also include a number of up-to-daio features in rag-time and jazz. A ■ffuiek-actioii ■ American farce is also announced, and numerous songs, dances, and choruses.. Special! arrangements have ksen made' for the production in the :aiatter of", scenery and effects. The proceeds an* to aid the local Regimental Band in their efforts to secure a set of new instruments. Already a large sum has been raised and it is hoped that., with the proceeds of this concert, and a' monster Band Fair, to bo fJield later, sufficient money to clear the whole sum will be raised.
