MEETINGS
NOVELTY FAIR.
A masting of the executive Citizens' and Band committees of the Novelty Fair, to be held with the idea of raising the.balance of the money for the new instruments for the band, \ms held in the ■ bandroom. There was ;i good attendance, and Mr H. A. Humphreys was appointed chairman of the- executive. ...
The chairman explained that the meeting was called with the object of appointing members of the executive to take charge of the various departments of the fair, to decide the place of holding the function, and to determine what form it would take.
J It was decided to hold it in the Theatre Royal, and the followiug. appointments were made: — General supervisor, Mr H. A. Humphreys; treasurer, Mr T. M. Clark; secretary, Mr H. J. Chapman; competitions department, Mr A. S. Todd; processions, Mr Addis; war trophies exhibit, Mr L. Hopkins; produce, Mr W. Searle; hobby stall, Mr E. Elliott; side-shows, Mr 0. Crum; bran dip and parcels, Mr H. Freeman; post and telegraph, «Vlr S.Fenton; Cafe de Curbstone, Mr ■Frank!:, Crum.; .art union, Mr ;T. J; 'Hunter and Mr F. Smith; raffles, 3lx I M. J.fßurgess;. tug-of-war, Mr ;M. J. Burgess. : The refreshment, -sweets, 'flowers, pot plants, fancy needlework, ■plain needlework, and .cakes stalls were left to tKe ladies. A meeting was arranged for a later date, at which.- a ladies' committee will be formed to manage the last-mentioned stalls. Mr T. J. Hunter was appointed ladies' representative to the executive. . • .
