SOUTHLAND COAL AVAILABLE.
JNVERCARGILL, July 9
Mr A. W. Rodger, chairman of the Ohai Railway Board, states that with the assistance of the railway the Ohai coalfields could be linked up with the present system in fourteen days, and in a few Weeks the mines could supply between 600 and 1000 tons of good steam coal per diem. There are no engineering difficulties and only three miles of railway needed to be laid. At the present time the output is only 120 tons per day.
