WELLINGTON, July 8. The Jtuahine. with returning draft No. 260 berthed at 7.10 this morning. The' disembarkation occupied 20 minutes. The troops aboard numbered 890, the women 139 ,and children 31Good woathcr was experienced on the voyage from Plymouth with tho exception of a few days of choppy seas when nearing New Zealand.

The men wore given a great reception at Newport News, whero they remained a week.

During the voyage four children died. J. Rainbow, a sick passenger, jumped overboard at the Gatun lock and was drowned.

Among the troops who returned by the Ruahinc is Second-Lieutenant Laurent, V.C., a son of Mr J. Laurent,. of Hawera. .
