SEAMEN'S STRIKE.

MELBOURNE, July 3. Mr W. A. Watt (Acting-Prime Minister) discussed the shippTng strike with representatives of the Seamen's Union, and subsequently announced that it had been decided to summon another compulsory conference of steamship owners and seamen's representatives.

The Melbourne Coal Board has postponed the operations of lighting restrictions in view of the changed outlook caused by the pending resumption of the conference with the seamen.
