(Received July 4, 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, July 3. The Standing Committee of the House of Commons, by 14 votes to 11 rejected a proposal to prevent enemy aliens entering the United Kingdom for seven years. ' . Several members protested against the Government's non-fulfilment of its election pledges. Mr Shortt agreed to introduce a proposal limiting the exclusion to one year as an experiment.
