COLONIES DISPOSAL.

SEEKING A COMPROMISE

(Received February 1, 11 a.m.) LONDON, January 30. The "Morning Post's" special cor_-l-esnonddnt states:—The Imperial War Cabinet met Mr \ Lloyd George and Colonel House to discuss the mandatory proposals. Mr Hughes, Mr Masje y and General Botha put the Dominions' case. Efforts are being made to reach a compromise. One of the suggestions is that the distinction should be drawn between the territories captured by. the British and those by the Dominion troops,, but this would hand over Mesopotamia and East Africa to',the League of Nations, and there is no evidence that it would prove acceptable to America.
