AWAITING EVENTS. (Received Jan. 4, 2 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Jan 3. Mr. N. D. Baker, addressing the House Military Committee, said that the Government did not intend until the Peace Conference was ended, to decide on the extent of the military establishments in the United States. It was B not intended to maintain forces in Europe for two years. No arrangements had been made for universal military serrice,.
Rear-Admiral Redman recommended Liie House Naval Committee to advocate the destruction of the capital ahips of the German Navy.
