Mr h Oxley, clerk to fch'o South Rakaia Road Board, who has been away on sick leave, has not yet been able to undergo the treatment required, the delay being due to the nrevalenco of the influenza epidemic.
Mr W. Harrison, of "Summerlea," Rakaia, has received a cable > from his son. Lieutenant W. Harrison, confirm^ine: the official news of his repatriation to England from a prison camp in Germany. Lieutenant Harrison joined the Royal Flying Corps, after qualifying in Egypt. Previously he was at Galhpoli, and was invalided home, but re-en-listed.
Another vessel with returning; soldiers will shortly reach the Dominion. The list includes the names of the following; County men: —Lance-Corporal .T. R. Reeves (Ashburton), Lance-Cor-poral D. J. Mathieson (Ashburton), Privates G. Breading (Rakaia), W. Cairns (Ashbnrton), A. J. Gorman (Ashburton), H. E. Jessop (Methvcm). F. Reeves (Ashburton), P. F. Robe (Ashburton), and ,T. E. Scott (MethIven).
