Cable advice dated November 4, 1918. has been received at Base Records statins that Major Guy Featherstoii and Captain V. J. Gallic, M.C., two New Zealanders, have been awarded the Croix de Guerre. Both officers are attached to the Royal Field Artillery.
Dr. Henry Pollen, one of the bestknown members of the medical profession in Wellington, passed away" on Saturday morning at his residence in Boulcott Street The late Dr. Pollen was born at Kingston, Co. Dublin, Ireland, in 1853. '
The Hon. G. W. Russell, Minister of Public Health, had a breakdown on Friday, night, consequent on the very ■hard work, that he has been called on to do in connection with the epidemic. His complaint, fortunately, is no^. influenza.
Among recent victims to influenza is. Mr Gerald Henson, husband of Miss Algood, of "Peg o' My Heart"'Company. Nearly the whole company are laid up. Captain .Gurio, of the French barque Colonel De Villebors Mareuil, also died from —Press Association.
