The.; progress ««■ the left flank was wjustlly'successful. The villages' of Allennutt and'YaMdesson were taken on our
right, and we carried our line to the heights commanding Pargny and Filaine. The troops in the centre, hustling the first enemy reserves, stormod the village of Chairgeton, and the advance here reached a depth of two and aquarter miles. The enemy's losses were very heavy, 7500 prisoners having so far been counted. Our enormous booty in- 1 eludes 25 guns.
