DOMINION NEWS.

COST OF LIVING.

PARLIAMENTARY COMMITTEEJ'S REPORT.

WELLINGTON, October 24

It is improbable that anything; further will be heard about the Cost of Living Committee's report this session. : • ' V The committee presented its amended report to the Mouse of Representatives to-day, with the disputed clause in reference to the use of the Consolidated Fund cut out. The committee, has also cut out the plenary powers of the Food Controller.. There was no discussion on the report when it was presented. That the Government- this session will bring down legislation to givo effect to any of the recommendations of the committee is a very „remote contingency. '
