ITS COST IN BRITAIN,
In 1913 the cost of growing an acre of wheat in- England was £7 17b lid; This year, a White Paper shows the lowest of a series of estimates obtained by the Board of Agriculture was £9 17s per acre. The board's own estimate is £10 8s 6d an acre; other* estimates reach as high as .£ll 15s Od. The items which' show the greatest difference between 1917 and 1913, taking the details of the estimate of £11 los 6d, are shown below.— 1913 1917. * » ' . - £b. d. £ s. d. On the other hand, the; committee thinks'seed corn and pickling will cost £1 5s for every acre of wheat grown.
