Mr Lloyd George and General French toured the damaged area in London. Standing in the doorway of a. cottage where four youths had been killed, Mr Lloyd George's Celtic temperament found vent. Turning to the crowd of people, he shouted: "We shall give it to them all back—give them hell, and give it to them soon." The crowd cheered.

ENEMY AERODROMES BOMBED.

LONDON, Oct. 2. Sir Douglas Haig reports:—Our aeroplanes bombed the Gontrode and! Carnieres aerodromes and German long range guns. We brought down eight enemy machines. Two ol.' ours are missing.
