A case of interest to the teaching profession was decided in the Orepulu Magistrate's Court recently. An assistant of the Orepuki School had punished a boy for writing obscene language on the public hall. Tha parents took the matter to court, but the Magistrate decided that the punishment was not excessive,. In dismissing thc\ case with 21s costs, he said that obscene and rivolous writing wns far trio common in public places, and thnt the offender thoroughly deserved the chastisement.
