AUSTRO-CERMAN OFFENSIVE.

BRZEZANY POSITIONS RECAPTURED.

LONDON, July 21. A wireless Germans report states :— Pursuing the Russians, we crossed the Zloczov-Tarnapol Road on both sides of Jezierno to a width of 40 kilometres (26 ,miles).

The Russians are burning villages and causing great destruction. Further lighting is expected. The Austro-Hungarian forces recaptured the positions northward of Brzezany lost on July 1. Our troops are before Tarnopol. Russian attacks on the Dneister broke down. We drove out the enemy from Baden and stormed high positions at Novica.

The Russo-Roumanian forces are more active on the Lower Sereth. A wireless Austrian official message states:—The Austro-Gennans have passed beyond Augustowka, Czerna, and Tosteovce. , ■.?■»<.:.
