COMMERCIAL TRAVELLERS NOT ESSENTIAL.

DTJNEDIN, March 29. Messrs R. McKinlay and Son, boot manufacturers, applied for exemption on behalf of J. H. Bi'own, commercial traveller. The chairman remarked that such an appeal was quite unreasonable. No traveller had yet asked for exemption. Captain Free said there was no less essential occupation than that of a commercial traveller. If they were all wiped out it would only mean that business would come through the mail instead of from personal solicitation. The appeal was dismissed.
