FRENCH SUCCESSES.

GERMANS DRIVEN, BACK IN

DISORDER

(Received October 19, 10.50 a.m.)

LONDON, October 18. A French* communique states:—Our fire broke three attacks at Sailly and Saillisel. The enemy attacked east of Berny-en-Santerre. Small parties penetrated our advanced trench, but our counterattack killed and captured some of them, and di-ovo the rest back in disorder. In succeeding attacking waves, we penetrated trenches, taking-prisoners, at Fresnieres, south-east of Rheims.
