SERIOUS OUTBREAK IN NEW
PLYMOUTH.

NEW PLYMOUTH, July 22
Tlie biggest.fire for over 30 years occurred ea.rly this morning, when the Theatre Royal, Govett and Wilhams's Buildings, the A.M.P. Building (m process of demolition), and Walter Bewley's, Hugh Bailey's, Austen Bewley's, and Montcath's offices, and J. B. MacEwan and Co.'s warehouse, were completely destroyed. Vcalc's grocery wa-s gutted, and some buildings on the opposite side of the street wero damaged. The firo had a good hold before it was discovered., and a, high wind confined tho firemen's attention to buildings across tho street. Tho tram service to the west end of tho toxvn was interrupted.
