Tho French and Dutch Press declare that tho result of the battle, viewed broadly, was a British victory, since tho Navy remain in. ■ undisputed possession of tho North Sea. and its exits.
Tho King's message to Admiral Jellicoo is universally welcomed, as.it places the battle in true perspective. No ono attempts to minimise the serious loss of good ships and better men, but they are reassured that, after all, the "battle reasserts British', naval supremacy, which the Germans have not dared seriously to -.contest with bur battle fleet. .
