GERMAN CONVOY ATTACKED

STOCKHOLM, June 1

• The 'Stockholm Tidningen" publishes details of the reported engagement in the Baltic, off Oxlesund. Four Gorman warships, accompanied by destroyers and trawlers, wero escorting a. convoy of ore-laden steamers, when one or two .submarines attacked them. A hot fire was exchanged between the ships, all of which were travelling at a high .speed, and disappeared in tho dusk. Tho result of the action is unknown.

Oxelosund is on tho coast of Sweden, about 60 miles south-east of Stockholm. A message published yesterday stated that.ii submarine between Hafrigo and La.ndort, a few miles east of Oxolosund, had a brisk engagement with 0-fir.iHiin armed, trawlers, which were escorting a convoy of ■.ore-laden steamers.
