LONDON, June 1. Tho " Daily. Chronicle " publishes tho following message, signed by Sir Ernest ShackkSm, dated Port Stanley, Falkland Islands, May 31: —

"I havo arrived here. The Endurance was crushed it> the ice m the midclb of-tho Weddel Sea on October 27, 1915. We drifted 700 miles in-the ice until April 9, lUlb. We landed on Elephant Island on \pnl 16. 1 left on the 24th, leaving 22 men in a, hole in the ioe cliffs, and prwvodcd for help to South Georgia, with five men in n 22ft boat., At the tune of leaving Elephant Island all tho others were well, but were m urgent need of rescue."
