The ".Shipping Record" states that of 15 of the leading German shipping companies, only three paid dividends in 1915—rof 6, 4, and 2 por. cent, re? spectively—by winding up accounts, counting interest as receipts and profits, and by trenching on reserves. Seven companies did not publish bal-ance-sheets, including tbo German East Africa, the Norddcutscher Lloyd, the Gorman Levant, and the HamburgAmerika.
