ATTITUDE OF GREECE.

ATHENS, May 28

The Premier and the War Office had an important conference and decided to inform tho Allies that -the evacuation of Rupel was justified owing to the threat of Gremany and Bulgaria to occupy the town by force. ATHENS, May 29.

It is scmi-officially stated that the Greek Government, in consideration of tho concessions made to the Allies, and its desire for tho observance of strict neutrality; has consented to the occupation of the fortress oil Rupel.' The statement adds that Germany and Bulgaria have signed an agreement to restore the fortress and its gnns . and material when there is no longer, reason to justify its occupation. \ •

The Government will shortly issue a communique pointing out that! no oth'cr course was possible, since the/Germans' threatened to use force, and'hostilities would inevitably havo followed. In view of the analogous facilities already accorded to the Allies,- it waiilcl be incompatible with Greek neutrality.' t>o make any distinction between the belligerents.
