TINWALD TOWN BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Tinwakl Town Board was held on Friday evening. Present: Messrs T. Williams (chairman), J. Hampton, W. H. Bell, and D. W. Teppett. ' The Taieri County Council wrote ■forwarding a resolution urging that the powers of municipal councils in regard 6o the erection of toll gates be limited. Decided to approve of the resolution. The Department of Agriculture forwarded a notice from the "Gazette" stating that the Ashburton Borough Council had been appointed the controlling authority of the Ashburton abattoirs. The Hospital Board wrote drawirg attention to the unsatisfactory condition of the habitations of the old inon on the river-bed. —The inspector was instructed to report on the condition of th(% huts.
The inspector's report, stating that the district was in a satisfactory state, iras lid opted. Accounts amounting to £23 6s lid were passed for payment.
