SPREADEAGLE

Soldiers FareweHed.

On Monday evening the residents of Spreadeagle met in the schoolroom, to i bid farewell to two members of the district, Messrs H. N. Lucas and C. i Conolry, -who are. proceeding to Trontnam -with, the Tenth Reinforcements. A musical and: elocutionary programme was carried out. Mrs D. Jones and Messrs F. Smithers and B. Evans rcnI dered songs, and Messrs B. Evans and G. Cleland contributed recitations. Speeches were, made by Messrs A. Horsey, T. "Milne, and F. G. Evans, during the course of which each of the men who are leaving were presented with a wriatlet^ watch. Supper was then dispensed •by ,the ladies of the district. The meeting terminated with the singing of " God Save the King."
